DISCOVER THE WORLD OF THE TREE

LITHUANIA-POLAND-GREECE-LATVIA

The world is evolving quickly: the new generation needs new teaching methods. Experiential learning allows students to absorb knowledge in real life. The best learning is when children feel and experience everything by themselves. Through experiments, research, and active and useful activities, pupils get to know the world around them, encouraging higher learning outcomes and the desire to learn. STEAM covers all human activities.
The project aims to create a publicly available digital methodological tool, “Discover the World of the Tree”, by
expanding European cooperation, developing STEAM education, and strengthening teachers’ and students’ academic excellence and digital literacy.

Project objectives:
1. To acquaint students with the basics of empirical research and to encourage them to present their research in
accordance with the recommendations provided for scientific publications;
2. To improve students ‘and teachers’ ICT competencies by developing a digital tool, organizing cooperation with project partners;
3. To improve teachers’ subject, research and creative competencies in the fields of STEAM sciences;
4. By developing students’ STEAM skills, form their sustainable approach to nature.
At the end of the project, a publicly available and multilingual methodological tool, “Discover the World of the Tree”, will be created. In the methodological digital tool, students and teachers will find:
– information on the various European trees and their ecosystems;
– the results of the research carried out by the students and the methodologies for their performance;
– short video reports prepared by students about forests, timber companies, and people working with wood;
– photos and creative works on the theme of wood;
– mathematical exercises, riddles, crossword puzzles, tasks;
– poems, fairy tales, and narratives created by students;
– fairy tales from different European countries, folk songs, games about trees;
– various interactive games;
– methodological recommendations for teachers
